another day

wow, i'm really good at this blogging thing. :)  if only you knew all the blogs i have written in my head but failed to actually record, like the time i arrived at work in my dress and heels to find my first order of duty was to take out the trash, piles of bags and boxes, might i add.  five trips later, roughly 175 steps one way, i had written an entire blog in my head, recited multiple times the verse in colossians about working unto the lord and reminded myself of the many things i had to be grateful for such as an empty dumpster, a slight breeze, and the tasty aroma of ihop floating in the air. i also have wanted to blog about the amount of road kill i have seen since living in arkansas to include cats, dogs, squirrels, raccoons, armadillos, a possum, and other unrecognizable rodents.  i never dreamed i would see so many armadillos in my lifetime.  in other, less disgusting and morbid news, david and i are feeling more and more settled here in jacksonville.  i have been working part-time at ann taylor loft for a little over a month now and am really enjoying the job and the discount.  i especially love helping customers pick out the perfect outfit. david, on the other hand, has finished the first phase of his c-130j training and begins the tactical phase tomorrow.  by the end of the week, he will have completed two 6 p.m.-3 a.m. sims.  needless to say, i won't be waiting up, poor david. since moving here nearly three months ago, we have discovered a few favorite spots in the little rock area: whole foods, rave theater (just saw shrek in 3d last week), the pool (there are two on base, we had our first pool day this afternoon, many to follow i'm sure, heat index already reached 100 this week), za-za's (fine salad and wood-oven pizza restaurant), fbc (our awesome church), red box at wal-mart, cantina laredo (gourmet mexican restaurant that is to die for), and red mango (frozen yogurt with fruit toppings, delish).  we hope to explore hot springs, memphis, and pinnacle mountain in the coming weeks; however, since we are saving up for iphones, we are content to hang out at home and play with our cats.  discovering a new toy that makes our cats jump like crazy and even causes oliver to pant like a dog has been the highlight of our lives lately.  i will try to post a video because it's completely hysterical, either that or we are really easily amused, probably the latter.
well, this concludes my very random blog.  work starts at 6 a.m. tomorrow as we are working on a new store set.  fun fun. :)  -c&d

therefore, i urge you, brothers, in view of GOD'S mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and please to GOD - this is your spiritual act of worship.  do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then, you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, please and perfect will.  [romans 12:1-2]

a blog isn't complete without a picture or two.  this was taken the day we left colorado [2 days after our wedding] and said goodbye to omar bacon, my trainer who also was a running back for the giants.  the last few weeks, i have been getting back into working out and dragging david along with me. who knew marriage could be so fattening. :)  i plan to tape this picture to my fridge to motivate me to work my butt off at the gym.  miss you, o!
